HI, help me playtest
It's been a really long time since I made this game publicly available again, but wow, ITS HERE!
With this months build, I'm looking to get some feedback on potential things to fix and open up a conversation on how to make the game better to play. I've been working on some improvements that I think would needed to be added to this game for it to be "understandable" for someone to play without me physically having to be there. That's what I considered a standard for the game, so this build is something that I think will achieve that. Time will tell! I also opened up a discord for people to connect and discuss the game with others (AKA me). Also majority of it will be a spot for setting up parsec matches. The game's going to use its own itch.io forum for in depth info like mechanics and character guides, which will most likely be up within these two weeks.
This MAJOR new build has :
- a barebones basic training mode that is really just a hitbox viewer with unlimited health and meter. More to be added soon.
- drop in multiplayer (second player must press start to join)
- a very very rudimentary shoddy AI versus mode.
- Lemrojam!!! he's a 5 year old that like dancing and drinking lemon juice. But where did he come from......?
Some MAJOR gameplay changes like :
- Supers are now performed with a super button, but the assist character's super can only be activated by inputting 214+super (Quarter Circle Back, for those who dont know about number notations.
- Attacks + Dash Attacks work by input press/release. So the point character will attack on button press, but assist character will attack on button release. This helps with extending combos and even helps with reversal situations as well.
- Pushblock can be done while blocking by pressing the Dash Attack
- (Almost) every character's normal grab will now have a set follow up attack.
- TECHING the grab(Holding down the grab button) will CANCEL out the follow up attack, but the opponent who is grabbed will still be in hitstun state.
- (Almost) every character has a reversal move. Cyrus' 'Slowdive' , Majormel's 'Duststomp' , Lulz's 'tank!' and Tenpenny's 'Quand Les Larmes D'un Ange Font Danser La Neige' are some that can really help turn the tide of battle.
these new changes were mostly added to increase enjoyment of the game's systems. Since characters are simultaneously fighting 2 characters at the same time, I felt it'd be best to include stuff like this to make scenarios like a 1v2 or handling multiple opponents much more bearable.
Systems changes :
- New York Minute TImer mechanic increased from 30.00 seconds to 60.00 seconds
- NYM timer now notifies when time is close to running out
- NYM timer now shows who is in the lead with the use of red/green colors.
- Universal Health is now added up from 350 to 400.
- MAX!!! meter now goes up on any action and will only decrease if in a neutral state. Previously it only went up if the player attacked the opponent successfully.
These changes were added to fix pacing issues of the game and were made to reduce the matches from boiling down into a majority of time outs.
When playing, please note some of the particular issues that may arise when in a match or whenever. The game is still very janky, but I'd love to see some suggestions and what people may discover.
